Hey everyone....I traveled to Ghana last year, and was blessed with the experience of a lifetime.
For six months, my family and I were hosted by a traditional priest who is very active in his community.
anyway, he and others had been working on building a dam in the village that he was born and raised in, independent of any government funding. the money came directly from nana abass (the traditional priest) who is a chicken farmer, and spiritual consultant.
the village currently relies on a few wells for water. the water isn't clean, and not sufficient. water, in my belief, is a birth right for all human beings.
while there, i wrote my first grant to a group of presbyterians to assist with the dam's completion. we were recently funder $40,000, however, our fundraising can't stop there.
i am hoping that this collective will be one of the vessels for the dams completion.
i have posted a few pictures of the dam's foundation in the tribe photos.
co-creation is such a divine process.

Re: Dam Project
Sun, March 13, 2005 - 11:58 PMThank you for asking Z. Well...
in the near future i plan to organize trips to Ghana for those interested in picking up a few tools and doing some of the actual building. i'm pregnant right now, so this won't happen until i deliver early september of this year. i think...hehe.
however, in the meantime any benefit shows, fundraisers, or monetary donations would be wonderful. i send money back as often as i can, from here, to assist in keeping things moving.
spreading the word about the project, and helping to identify other funding sources (grants, etc.) is also always helpful!
if anyone of you may have any ideas as to what else might be helpful, please let me know.
your transformation Goddess.

sorry I'm a little late in the conversation but--how goes the project?
currently we're doing a similar thing in Cambodia.
since we're still in process of raising money and working out some of the details with engineers without borders--
any thoughts?
any unforseen problems that you had to work through?
gracias,
p
