hi, everybody -- I was going to lurk contentedly but then remembered my old Burning Man training, uh, duh, no spectators... so I thought I'd introduce myself instead.
my name is Alx, I've been an unsuspecting agent of change for my whole life, innocently provoking grade school playground upheavals and inspiring rebels of all stripes without realizing it...
the most recent re-invention of my life, times and belief systems took me to India, where I've spent five straight years learning about spiritual healing from a miracle spiritual master. (www.kaleshwar.org -- talk about an agent of change!)
I'm FINALLY back home in the USA and in the Bay Area, as of the last few days, and it's my dharma, my seva, my dream, to teach and heal and share all the juicy amazing spiritual techniques and healing energies I've learned in India with anyone who's sincerely hungry for such knowledge.
namaste, all!
(grinning wildly)

Mon, March 28, 2005 - 11:26 PMI love India, too, Z -- after five years I'm finding America a bit of a shock.
you ask for suggestions, how to manifest living as agents of change -- depends on what kinds of changes people want to achieve. inside or outside, or both? and are all agents of change dreaming about the same kind of world?
Shivaya Nama Om

Re: intro
Wed, September 28, 2005 - 12:30 AMhi guys
I love India but I hate India.
I'm sorry--and believe me--I get it--
but the place turns a blind eye to human suffering on such a massive scale I can't help but condemn it in some way.
yes yes all is Maya but
acknowledging that it's Maya doesn't put bread in anyone's mouth
Gandhi himself said that 'poverty is the worst form of violence'
anyway-
that said, anyone here involved with any NGO's in India? Talk to me =) -

Re: intro
Wed, September 28, 2005 - 8:44 AMHi San Pedro
the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order have a close relationship with some people in India. Ive only been going to the centre for a few months (still a newbie) but loving it and already tentatively thinking of future world explorations, very possibly with some sort of agent of change flavour.
Like all relationships, such a connection is beneficial to both parties, in particular the FWBO are keen to educate people to address issues of the way women are treated.

Re: intro
Sat, October 8, 2005 - 10:10 PM'cause, yeah, in America we do such a good job dealing with our human suffering on a massive scale... like the Gulf Coast battered by hurricanes, and the poor and the black left homeless and outraged.
we oughta get out there and spread our effective FEMA management in Third World countries?
pu-leeze. <rolling eyes>

Sun, October 9, 2005 - 12:33 AMwho said anything about FEMA?
I have no intentions of managing anything. I want to listen to what people have to say and using my connections, help them get the need that they ask for.
service.
just service. I'd be a fool if I had pretentions thinking that I knew what was right for them.

Unsu...
All warm and fuzzy

Alx, let me get this straight! You're back in the U.S. now after five years of wasting your time in India and you're saying that we were the cause of hurricanes, displacement of the poor and the blacks who choose to live in the known path of natural disasters and then wouldn't leave when the danger was imminent? I'll fault FEMA for not being WELL prepared and not getting buses in fast enough to move the diabled,,, but that's all. When I look at the man-made tragedies in Africa where dictators line their pockets with UN money, bulldoze their people's homes, kill dissenters, rape and pillage innocent women and children, etc., I'm wondering dear innocent puppy,,, why aren't you over THERE with your healing energies and spiritual techniques? Wouldn't you be a better change agent helping THOSE victims instead of just flapping your lips here, where you're safe and warm?
I love insufferable, do-gooder, know-it-alls that have all the answers,,, and solve nothing. -
